Build strength inside and out

Neshama Body and Soul (NBS) is a full-body workout and an opportunity for spiritual awakeness. NBS combines exercise, Jewish prayer and wisdom, and self-reflection to help you connect with you. This isn't yoga, this is holy-grounded strength training.
NBS offers hour-long sessions to synagogues, JCCs, schools, and organizations, as well as longer, immersive opportunities like retreats and scholar-in-residence weekends. See below for upcoming events.
NBS also offers one-on-one sessions for individuals interested in deepening their spiritual and physical connections. These sessions combine exercise, Jewish teachings, and coaching tailored to meet you where you are, and to help you grow stronger inside and out. Contact us to schedule a discovery session to explore what NBS can do for you.

In private sessions, the exercises are tailored to you and may include body-weight, as well as dumbbells and kettlebells.
Modifications will be offered for many of the exercises. Do what's right for you.
NBS is different for everyone. People feel calm, energized, focused, surprised. Some laugh, some cry, some do both at once.
After 20 years as a pulpit rabbi, she is now dedicating her time to NBS. NBS offers a unique approach to prayer and spirituality - as we move our bodies, we become open to possibility and aware of what keeps us grounded.
Rabbi Alpert offers NBS sessions, scholar-in-residence weekends, and multiple day intensives around the country, as well as training for future NBS leaders.
In addition to NBS, she has a coaching practice that combines life and professional coaching with fitness training. For more information, visit jaymeealpertcoaching.com

More than a decade ago, Rabbi Jaymee Alpert and Fernando Martinez began talking about the need to integrate exercise and prayer, in order to achieve a more balanced life. After reading about a therapist who found that their clients opened up more fully while walking or jogging, they started exploring what movement could do for one's spiritual life. After many hours of conversation and lots of trial and error, NBS: Neshama Body and Soul was born. Today it is a practice that blends body weight strength exercise with Jewish prayer and teachings and meditation.
We know that exercise is good for your heart, mind, mood, and muscles, and so is spiritual connection. Find both with NBS!
